Regatta Venue | RBS Dartmouth Week 2008
RBS Dartmouth Week 2008 is run by the Joint Regatta Sailing
Committee on behalf of the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta
Committee. We do so with the full support of both yacht clubs
on the River Dart, the Royal Dart Yacht Club and Dartmouth
Yacht Club.
Our office is at the Royal Dart Yacht Club which is within
easy walking distance of the Darthaven Marina where the
Regatta Marquee is located.
You will receive a warm welcome at both clubs.
The Royal Dart Yacht Club
Established in 1866 is situated on the eastern bank of the
Dart Estuary in the village of Kingswear. The club house was
built for members in 1881.
There is a large ground-floor bar and informal dining area,
opening onto the riverside terrace, which is a wonderful
place to sit, eat, drink and enjoy the ever-changing river
scene. Upstairs is a formal dining room with seating for
about 50 people, as well as the much larger Quarter Deck
function room and a large balcony with panoramic views of the
harbour.
The club is located close to Darthaven Marina.
The Dartmouth Yacht Club
"Please accept a warm invitation to the
Dartmouth Yacht Club where we are always glad to see visiting
yachtsmen. We can offer you piping hot showers, an excellent
bar, meals, bar snacks and good
company.
"
DYC are organising the Round The Harbour Race. This is a fun
handicap race for adults and children. Check in at four
points around the harbour, starting and finishing at DYC on
the South Embankment.
Boats must be under 16 feet long and may be propelled by any
means except power. You can sail, row, paddle and all at the
same time if you think that is fastest way!
Application forms are available from Dartmouth Yacht Club,
South Embankment, Dartmouth. For more information, ring the
club on 01803 832305
